Meet Dr RATNA GHOSE, Principal of India International School, Bengaluru.
Dr Ghose has 30 years of experience across various profiles of teaching, administration and management in International schools in India.
She holds a Doctorate Degree in Science (Urban Planning) from the University of Calcutta, post her Master of Science Degree in Geography from the same University. She also has a B. Ed Degree from the University of Calcutta.
She has 30 years of research and teaching experience at different levels (Post Graduation, Under Graduation and School level, teaching both National and International curriculum).
Dr. Ghose last worked as Branch Head, Neev Academy. Earlier she has worked as ‘Director – Teacher Development’ and had also been the teaching faculty at Indus International Schools, Bengaluru, looking into teacher’s personal and professional development. She is also an IBDP examiner for Theory of Knowledge (TOK) and Environmental Science and Society.
Says Dr Ghose, “I believe that ‘to accomplish great things, we must not only act, but also dream; not only plan, but also believe’. It is very essential for me to take the parents of our school students, who are the extended family into confidence and convince them to believe and support me in my endeavors for change. For me, ‘change is not a threat; it is a challenge, an opportunity to reinforce the tradition of India International School, to brighten up the lives of our exceedingly cherished students”.
Children go through a series of mini-crisis as they mature and Dr. Ghose considers it her task to assist the young learners in making this transition; to be lifelong learners who can not only lead but be consistent and sustainable in leadership. She believes that continuous encouragement and trust in the ability of our students and not merely limiting our focus to developing intellectual strength or emotional intelligence – is the key to unlocking their potential for the future.
